NEW YEAR PLANS/OBJECTIVES

Written by FRANCIS ADJEI MENSAH FOSO COLLEGE OF EDUCATION TEL: 0246687694 / 0558510755 On 31st December, 2019, you are likely to experience the home coming of all who regarded church as nothing throughout the year coming to the church premises all in the name of Cross Over Service . But just to ask, cant they just cross over Whatever they want to cross without going to the church? Or there is something that pushes them to be there. That is just by the way.  At a critical point of the day like this, you hear a whole lot of people saying, I am going to put down my new year plans and goals. But my question is, you reading this article, did you set some target or objectives to achieve in 2019? Well, how many were you able to achieve and how many were you not able to? Are you going to abandon those you couldn't achieve and set new ones? Are there possibilities of achieving the ones you couldn't achieve?  After answering all this rhetorical questions, you have to set some goals or o...

I KNOW MY LEVEL

Image
Written by FRANCIS ADJEI MENSAH FOSO COLLEGE OF EDUCATION TEL: 0246687694 / 0558510755 There is a popular song from one controversial secular Ghanaian musician by name Shatta wale titled I know my level which has been on the air waves for a couple of time now. In this article, I am not going to discuss the content of that song with you, but I just want us to take the title of the track and elaborate more in it. Now, understand that we've gotten all manner of levels in life. Once I was listening to the President of the Winners Chapel International, and he made a profound statement which has been in mind since that day. He said "Do not ever remove the "s" attached to level". He meant that, we didn't only have to be at a level, but we had to be occupying levels in life. You must aim to be at top. You see, in life, until you get to know your level, you will be leveled. Knowing is a very important key in the Christian life and the life on earth. Those who don...

BEHIND THAT SMILE

Written by Arewa Toheeb Do you remember the girl who asked for a job from you and you brought forth "Sex" as a major condition for the job offer. she became a Runs girl cos of you. She started believing she could get anything she wants in life just by spreading her legs.. Do you remember that girl who begged you the lecturer, she cried and begged you to give her time to raise money for her fees, you offered to help on the condition that you violate her privacy. She probably bought your idea and started doing "school runs" just to see herself through school. She thought that was the easy way.. Do you remember that poor house help you violated several times when your wife wasn't home. You threatened to kill her if she said anything, she finally got used to sleeping with married men and started breaking homes She didn't care who got hurt or not.. Do you also remember that little girl you violated? Always inserting your fingers and dangerous tools into her priva...

WHO CAUSED IT?

Written by Marco Boahen Frimpong 18th August, 2018              10:44 am You are a young woman of age 18 Your breasts are as straight  as a child stretching for food Your buttocks are as big  as an articulator truck’s tyre Your beauty is unimaginable No man can pass by you  without turning back to look at you again Many men have fallen into gutters Many have found themselves  in the middle of roads With cars honking on them  but they cannot hear Due to your beauty men chase you around And you openly deliver yourself to them  like an EMS delivery agent You get pregnant and Kofi rejects it Kwame denies it Kwasi threatens to sue you  for imposing someone’s pregnancy on him You give birth without a husband And your national anthem becomes Men are wicked but my question  remains the same "Who caused it?" You finally marry a rich man That is after You turned over a new leaf Your husband gives you all your needs But you...

ARE TEACHERS THE REAL CAUSE OF PUPILS’ LOW ACADEMIC PERFORMANCES

Image
Should this teacher be blamed for poor academic work of his pupils? Written by Marco Boahen Frimpong Wed, 15th August, 2018         9:40pm When I sit down to analyse the path our basic education system is trailing, I begin to cry. Gone are the days where pupils in public schools burned the midnight candles just to maintain a position or overtake someone on the terminal report rating scale. We live in a day where parents prefer to buy clothes for all occasions to buying books for their wards in the public schools. We live in a day where parents know that their upper primary or J.H.S daughter has a boyfriend and they are ok with it. We live in a day where parents do not even know the class their children are in. We live in a day where caning a child is like insulting the chiefs in our villages. Gone are the days where pupils went to school early for fear of being caned or punished. Gone are the days where pupils feared to attend jams and wake-keepings for the fear...

HUSBAND SCARCITY!!!

Image
Written by Maryam Habu shinga This may not be the best time for me to write on this because of misinterpretations, but I can no longer resist the push. "Husband Scarcity" has become one of the challenges faced by many young girls today. If you go to prayer houses, majority of the intentions are prayer for a life partner. And this calls for concern. Casting our minds back to the time of our mothers and grandmothers, was there really much of a "Husband Scarcity" problem? Or, maybe there were more men than women then, or there was an adequate corresponding numbers of both genders. I don't think so. Maybe then, the women had values and were prepared to build a home and not park into a built home. Then, once a young man comes of age and can at least feed himself and his wife, he goes out in search of a wife and the woman really appreciates him and helps him to build a future. What am I really trying to say? We created what we now see as "Husband Scarcity" ...

THE PASTOR WHO TAUGHT PRAYER TO THE MARRIED

Image
Bukari and his wife don't sit next to each other during Church services. Even when going to Church services, they go in different vehicles; and when they travel in the same car, it is usually a very quiet and uncomfortable ride. Bukari sat at his usual spot in the Church service; the fourth line on the far left row. His wife sat on the center row. The Pastor took to the podium. "Husbands, stop wasting your time praying" the Pastor began. The congregants got alarmed. No one expects to hear a pastor saying prayer is a waste of time. "I am not here to discourage you to pray. I am here to encourage you to pray right. Husbands, stop wasting your time praying if you are not treating your wife well. The Word says that when you treat your wife badly, it hinders your prayers. Men, you claim to be prayerful. You come to church driving your expensive cars, giving your offertory and tithes, active in Church, some of you are Church leaders; but how are you treating your wife?   ...
